Confidential Counselling and Psychotherapy for Adults and Adolescents

Why Counselling?

During our lives, we meet with many changes and worries. Sometimes these worries pass, sometimes the thoughts and feelings are more difficult to understand.

These concerns can leave us feeling confused, anxious or depressed and may prevent us from getting the most out of our lives. The problems that affect us may leave us feeling cut off from those whom we usually turn to for help and support.

Counselling can help if:

  • You are depressed or anxious
  • You have suffered loss, bereavement or other trauma
  • You frequently feel lonely and isolated
  • You suffer from physical symptoms with no clear organic cause
  • You suffer from eating disorders
  • You wish to improve your relationships
  • You seek greater self-knowledge

How does counselling help?
  • By offering a reliable and confidential relationship free from the pressures of ordinary life
  • By offering support during times of crisis or transition
  • By offering a safe place where you can speak about feelings that worry or frighten you
  • By making sense of recurrent problems by exploring links with the past
  • By challenging unhelpful patterns of thought and behaviour
  • By clarifying choices and helping resolve old hurts and conflicts
